Welcome to Banting and Best Child Care Centre & Banting and Best School Age Satellite Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Banting and Best Child Care Centre is a Non-Profit Organization and has been in operation since 1989. We began a programme for sixteen (16) preschool children, aged two and a half to five years and for fifteen (15) school aged children, aged six to twelve years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, in response to the ever changing needs of the Goldhawk Community, we have expanded to a licensed capacity to 32 Preschool, 52 Kindergarten and 60 School-Age children. In 1998 we expanded at the Prince of Peace Catholic School and is presently licensed for 30 children for the School Age Program. This is a Before and After school program with shared space in the Music room. We have also expanded a Kindergarten Program at Prince of Peace Catholic School starting September 2019 with spaces for 13 children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We have a subsidy contract with the Toronto Children Services since 2016 at Banting and Best Child Care Centre. Starting May. 1\/2019 we offer subsidized service at the Banting and Best School Age Satellite Program location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our program operates within the Banting and Best Public School and Prince of Peace Catholic School. There is the peace of mind parents gain in such a setting as ours, the assurance that once your child is at the Centre, he\/she\/they will safely make the transition to and from school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Full-time program offers the children breakfast from 7 to 8 am; a morning snack; hot lunch (Preschoolers only) and an afternoon snack. KG and SA children offered breakfast, morning and afternoon snacks. Our meals are provided by a catering service which specializes in meals for children. Their menus are child-centered, nutritionally balanced, developed by a Nutritionist and government approved!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Staff also encourage the individual growth of the child at his\/her\/their own time and pace. Banting and Best Child Care Centre is also involved in the high school Co-op Education Program that places high school students in the Centre several days a week. In addition, we also act as a placement agency mentoring students pursuing the Early Childhood Education Programs at Centennial College, Seneca Polytechnic, St. Lawrence College and George Brown College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Banting and Best Child Care Centre <\/strong>and Banting and Best School Age Satellite Program<\/strong> is enrolled in the 2022 and 2023 Canada Wide Early Learning Child Care (CWELCC) <\/strong>program. Children in the ages of 0 \u2013 6 years old are the children that qualify for reduced fees<\/strong>. Children that are age 6 may have some changs to qualifications for reduction in fees, this is due to the child\u2019s date of birth for qualifications of how long they are given the reduction for fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ==Centre Philosophy==<\/strong> ==Summary of Services==<\/strong> We offer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n ==Hours of Operation==<\/strong> For Inclement weather, as we are located within a TDSB school, we follow TDSB inclement weather protocol and when TDSB schools are closed, the child care centre and it’s programs will also be closed due to safety reasons of traveling for our Families and Educators. Closures are announced at 6:00 am via official TDSB website, X app (formerly known as Twitter), or news channel CP24. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Banting and Best School Age Satellite Program site located at Prince of Peace C.S. (255 Alton Towers Circle) <\/strong>operation times from September to June is from 7:00 am – 9:00 am and 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm Monday to Friday except for Statutory Holidays and is closed one week in mid August for annual cleaning and floor waxing. During the summer months (July and August) we are open from 7:00 am – 6:00 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For Inclement weather, as we are located within a TCDSB school, we follow TCDSB inclement weather protocol and when TCDSB schools are closed, the child care centre and it’s programs will also be closed due to safety reasons of traveling for our Families and Educators. Banting and Best Child Care Centre Program Statement includes a reference to \u201cHow Does Learning Happen?\u201d The Program Statement reflects a view of children as being competent, capable, curious and rich in potential. At Banting and Best Child Care Centre, every child has a sense of belonging where he or she is connected to others and contributes to their world. They develop a sense of self, health and well being. Every child is an active and engaged learner who explores the world with body mind and senses. They are capable communicators who express themselves in many ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
